Learning in Beam

What staff see: lessons that resume anywhere, quizzes, practical evidence, practice and certificates.

Everything a staff member needs is on My learning. Training that is part of their work is done in paid working time.

My learning

  • Reminders: training due soon or overdue, and messages a manager approved.
  • Assigned to me: each course with its revision, lessons done and due date.
  • Completed: every completion with its certificate.
  • Questions for you: optional questions from a manager, when there are any.

Reviewers and assessors also see Waiting for my review and Practical evidence to assess.

Lessons

Open a course and press Start, or Resume to carry on. Progress is saved as each lesson is marked done, so a person can start on a computer and finish on a phone. Each lesson links its Source material. Mark done and continue moves to the next lesson.

Quiz and practical

When every lesson is done, Take the quiz opens. Each question scores when exactly the right choices are selected, and the pass mark and attempts left are shown before starting.

If the course has a practical part, Submit evidence describes what the person did, with an optional file, and sends it to the named assessor. The assessor accepts it or asks for resubmission with a note. Nobody can accept their own evidence.

Practice

Some courses offer Practice: short scenarios staff can try as often as they like. Practice never counts toward completion and nobody scores it.

Certificates

Every completion issues a numbered certificate from your business, naming the course revision. Use the browser's print command to save a copy. A certificate records completion of your own training; it is not an accreditation or a statement of competence.
