Move in from TalentLMS
Bring your TalentLMS course list and course reports across as labelled history, with a preview and undo.
Beam can bring your training records across from TalentLMS so you can run both side by side. Course content moves separately: rebuild lessons from your own source documents.
What you need from TalentLMS
- The course list as a CSV file.
- A course report (.xlsx) for each course whose history you want, with its users overview and, if available, its timeline.
Preview
Open Move in (the owner sees it in the top bar). Under 1. Preview, choose the Course list (.csv), then up to three course reports, each with its TalentLMS course ID. Say how Dates in these files are written, and press Preview import.
The preview is a dry run: nothing has been written. It shows:
- Summary: courses in the list, historical completions, people not matched, duplicates and rows needing attention.
- People: who matched a Beam member by email, and who will be kept as unresolved history.
- Duplicates, Needs attention and Gaps, each naming the file, sheet and row.
- Course mapping: link each TalentLMS course to the Beam course that replaces it, then Preview again with this mapping.
Apply and undo
Under 2. Apply, Apply import applies exactly the preview you reviewed. If the files or your people changed in the meantime, Beam asks you to preview again.
Imported completions are labelled TalentLMS history. They show on each person's record but never complete a current assignment. A manager can Mark reviewed any of them with a note.
Undo this import removes what the import added, except records a manager reviewed afterwards, which are kept. You can then preview and apply the same files again.
When someone joins after an import
If you invite a person after importing their history as unresolved, the next preview lists their rows under Imported earlier with other details, and apply refuses that preview. Undo the earlier import, then preview and apply the files again to bring their history across matched to them.
